AEW and ROH’s recent trip to Arena México saw Bryan Danielson get physical for the first time in months, leading some to believe that he could wrestle again.

The legendary ‘American Dragon’ closed the ROH x CMLL Global Wars tapings by nailing Shane Taylor with a Busaiku Knee, the manoeuvre necessitating a back bump from Danielson. Whilst reports have suggested that Danielson is not cleared to compete, and Danielson himself has said his neck ‘is wrecked’, this latest bump has made some believe again, with a report from Fightful Select suggesting there is an expectation from some in AEW that Danielson will compete again.

When Danielson retired at WrestleDream in October 2024, it was worded that the ROH legend was retired from ‘full-time’ competition, leaving the door open for more matches in the future - whether one-offs or programmes. Fightful’s report states there have been certain choices and creative beats set up to pave the way for a return - whenever that may be - such as Wheeler Yuta using several moves from the Danielson playbook.

The angle at the end of Global Wars was said to have been something ‘very personal’ to Danielson, with ‘AmDrag’ saving Blue Panther from Shane Taylor Promotions. It is said that Shane Taylor Promotions were brought in and booked specifically for that spot.
