2 Cold Scorpio - real name Charles Scaggs - won't stand trial in November as originally scheduled.
Scaggs was set to stand trial on November 3 on charges of one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action. PWInsider has reported that prosecutors filed a motion asking for the trial to be delayed due to the defence telling them the name of the person who filmed footage of the physical altercation which led to Scaggs' arrest in June 2024. The prosecution asked for additional time in order to "interview/depose" that person so they can "adequately prepare" for the trial.
The judge ultimately agreed with the prosecution's request. 2 Cold Scorpio's trial is now set to begin on January 26, 2026 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Charles Scaggs was arrested in the early hours of June 15, 2024 following an altercation at a Love's Travel Stop in Kansas City where Scaggs worked as a security guard. The probable cause statement noted the altercation took place after Scaggs confronted a man over smoking a cigarette inside the store and the situation escalated.
The victim and Scaggs differ on who was the aggressor, but when police arrived at the scene, the victim had stab wounds to his head, chest, buttocks, back of the leg, and abdomen. Scaggs, meanwhile, had swelling and redness on the left side of his face, a red mark on the bridge of his nose, a thumb laceration, minor scratches, a large scratch on his left forearm/elbow, and redness on his right forearm/elbow.
Scaggs has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. His attorney noted 2 Cold Scorpio planned to claim self-defence at the trial.
2 Cold Scorpio was a prominent wrestler in the 1990s and 2000s, performing for the likes of ECW, WWE, NJPW, and Pro Wrestling NOAH. He is a former ECW World Television Champion, ECW World Tag Team Champion, and WCW World Tag Team Champion.
