WWE's working relationship with controversial comedian Tony Hinchcliffe isn't necessarily dead, despite the cancellation of WWE Late Night.
The two sides were set to collaborate once again over SummerSlam weekend with WWE Late Night on August 2 at New Jersey's Bergen Performing Arts Center. The untelevised event has been cancelled, however, with ticket sales for the show said to be "light."
Although WWE Late Night was binned, Fightful Select has reported that WWE are still open to working with Tony Hinchcliffe again in the future. The relationship between the two sides is also still good.
WWE and Tony Hinchcliffe first worked together earlier this year on the Roast of WrestleMania, which took place after night two of WrestleMania 41 and proved controversial due to several offensive jokes, with heat directed towards the likes of Paul Heyman and Nia Jax over their comments at the event.
Tony Hinchcliffe also appeared on Monday Night Raw on April 7 to promote the Roast of WrestleMania, providing commentary for a World Tag Team Title match between the New Day and the War Raiders. Hinchcliffe's brief spell on commentary was internally considered a dud, however.
