WWE have provided a storyline update on LA Knight being written off TV, announcing the former United States Champion has sustained a cracked sternum, among other injuries, and he will be out of action indefinitely.

While the injury is simply a storyline, a legitimate cracked sternum often has a recovery time of between four and six weeks, which suggests WWE may be looking to bring back LA Knight either at or around the Royal Rumble. Recent reports had noted that LA Knight would be gone for "a while."

LA Knight was laid out on last week's Raw, first being attacked by the masked man during his main event match with Logan Paul. The Vision then beat Knight down after the match, which ended with Bronson Reed hitting a tsunami to Knight on the roof of a car.

LA Knight being taken out by The Vision initially fuelled outrage on social media, with WWE being accused of burying the former Eli Drake. People within WWE were confused by the outrage, however, as the angle was simply a standard storyline that will be revisited at a later date.
