Around a live taping of WWE NXT, WWE taped week two of NXT Gold Rush inside The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, November 18, with the episode set to air on November 25. WWE taped the show due to Thanksgiving.
The taping of NXT Gold Rush week two featured two title changes as Lei Ying Lee pinned Kelani Jordan in a Triple Threat, which also featured Jordynne Grace, to win the TNA Knockouts World Title. Lee was presented with the championship post-match by TNA President Carlos Silva, while Tommy Dreamer was also at ringside.
Fallon Henley also defeated Zariah to capture the vacant WWE Speed Women's Championship. The match went to sudden death overtime after the contest initially ended in a time-limit draw, with Ava restarting the bout because they were in New York City.
Elsewhere at the taping, Jackson Drake picked up a win over Sean Legacy to retain the WWE EVOLVE Title, Kendal Grey defeated Lainey Reid to remain WWE EVOLVE Women's Champion, and Myles Borne beat Trick Williams to qualify for the men's Iron Survivor Challenge match.
In the closing segment of the taping, Trick Williams re-emerged to call out Myles Borne. DarkState then looked to attack Borne after Williams backed off, but Je'Von Evans, Leon Slater, and Joe Hendry made the save. This led to a show-closing brawl with the babyfaces standing tall to send the fans home happy.
It was announced that John Cena would select the men's and women's Iron Survivor Challenge competitors during week two of Gold Rush, but the segment was not shown during the live show, nor was it broadcast on the titantron for the fans in attendance at the taping.
