WWE John Cena Classic Confirmed For December 2026

John Cena has confirmed the WWE John Cena Classic will be taking place at some point in December 2026, although a final date has yet to be revealed for the event.

"This year in December I'm really excited about announcing the John Cena Classic. So we're going to do an event based off of all the memory, all the nostalgia, and the IP, and the core values of the character, which is me. Hustle, loyalty, respect, perseverance, virtue, overcoming the odds, and giving the vote to the people. Our audience is going to decide our champion on that night. So it's a really unique live event. I don't even know if it's going to work. I'm still taking bold chances in the WWE space and I'm proud to be helping the John Cena Classic," Cena said on TODAY.

John Cena announced at Backlash 2026 that the John Cena Classic would be held at some point in the future, with the show set to be built around main roster wrestlers vs. NXT talents. A John Cena Classic Champion will also be determined in a fan vote.

The event has been rumoured for December 2026 for some time, but Cena's comments were the first confirmation that the John Cena Classic will actually take place in the final month of the year. A WWE pay-per-view is already scheduled for that month, with Wrestlepalooza emanating from Perth, Australia, on December 12.
