WWE Backstage Reaction To Bumps During Jordynne Grace Vs. Giulia

Jordynne Grace and Giulia faced off in a hard-hitting affair on the May 6 edition of WWE NXT to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship, with the match being praised outside of a couple of moments in which Giulia landed on her head.

Giulia first went head-first into the canvas only minutes into the match following a Reverse Powerslam-esque move from Jordynne Grace. Giulia's head then bounced off the mat again following a Michinoku Driver from the former TNA Knockouts World Champion.

Giula landing on her head on multiple occasions in the match received some criticism, and Fightful Select has reported that it was made clear following the contest that NXT doesn't want to normalise bumps like what occurred during the number one contender's match.

There were reportedly "audible reactions" backstage at the NXT taping after both bumps. It was said that the first bump occurred as Giulia tucked her chin when she wasn't supposed to, while the second bump was simply a rough landing.

Regardless, Giulia was fine following the contest. Both she and Jordynne Grace are considered NXT talents but a number of female wrestlers on the roster are reportedly planned to be moved to the main roster as part of the next WWE Draft.
