WWE’s Crown Jewel 2026 PLE will be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia later today, with the promotion pushing forwards in the midst of travel recommendations deterring citizens from the region due to threats, dangers, and conflicts, and despite some of those in WWE reportedly not wanting to be booked for the show, with reported talks of some wanting the event canceled or moved, it is full steam ahead…. sort of.

It was announced over the last week or so that WWE were taking a smaller crew to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with less talent travelling too. This also includes the commentary team. A report from PWInsider has revealed that the announce team has not travelled with WWE to Saudi Arabia, and will instead be calling the show remotely from WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

This news comes after it was learned that many portions of the show will be produced from the US, with several workers reportedly rejecting a $3000 hazard pay to make the trip to Saudi Arabia, refusing to make the travel. There has been plenty of concern around Crown Jewel, with Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport being the target of several bombings and strikes since the start of this month - as recently as the week before the PLE. Safety concerns have led to Crown Jewel being moved to an indoor venue.
