Some sad news emerged in the last couple of days as New Japan Pro Wrestling announced the closure of their United States subsidiary, with the promotion revealing that New Japan of America would be entering liquidation, bringing to an end a seven year project which began back in 2019. NJPW’s US exploits led to the emergence of the popular New Japan STRONG weekly show which took place in the States, though this was stopped back in 2023.

When it comes to the reaction regarding the closure of NJPW’s US project, with NJPW’s US dojo also ceasing operation, there is a reported sadness per F4WOnline. However, the news did not come as a surprise to anyone. It is noted that anyone who has been affiliated and worked with NJPW in the Los Angeles dojo in recent years has been expecting this to take place, with some even “shocked” that the news didn’t come sooner. Bryan Alvarez stated that much of the sadness stemmed from the fact that there were still so many talented people actively working in NJPW’s US dojo, who will now have to find a new home.

This major change comes not long after NJPW changed owners, as Bushiroad sold their majority stake to CyberAgent and TV Asahi.
