Willow Nightingale Legitimately Injured Ahead Of AEW All In

Willow Nightingale was involved in an injury angle on Wednesday night's edition of AEW Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland, as the AEW Women's World Champion was attacked backstage by Mercedes Mone, who smashed a steel chair across Willow's hand before she proceeded to gloat.

Nightingale favoured her hand for the remainder of the segment and she appeared at the Collision taping following Dynamite with her hand taped up. Willow's injury isn't simply kayfabe and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Nightingale is dealing with a legitimate hand injury.

The injury seemingly won't affect Willow's status for AEW All In, however, and Alvarez noted she is still expected to work Sunday's pay-per-view. Nightingale will defend the AEW Women's World Championship against Mercedes Mone in one of the headline matches at the Wembley Stadium event.

Nightingale has suffered from an injury-affected 2026, missing two months of action from May to July due to an AC sprain. The injury caused Nightingale to vacate the TBS Championship and withdraw from the Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament.

In her return match, though, Nightingale won a Casino Gauntlet to become the number one contender for the AEW Women's World Title. She defeated Thekla for the belt at the Redemption pay-per-view on July 26.
