Chelsea Green pinning Giulia with her feet on the ropes on WWE SmackDown

Giulia's reign as WWE Women's United States Champion came to an end after 133 days on the November 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown as she dropped the belt to Chelsea Green, with Green winning the match via roll-up after she used the ropes for leverage.

Giulia had been champion since June 27 when she defeated Zelina Vega for the belt, but the former STARDOM star had seldom defended the title, only putting the belt on the line twice before her loss to Chelsea Green.

Giulia's title loss may have been related to plans for a push, however. According to Cory Hays of BodySlam, the plan as of several weeks ago was for Giulia to enter the main event picture and this could have been the reason for her dropping the Women's United States Championship.

"The plan weeks ago was for her to enter the main event scene. Hoping that's still the plan and she took the L like that to Chelsea for that reason," Hays tweeted.

Any plans for Giulia to move into the main event picture may be delayed until after Survivor Series. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported the original plans for the Women's WarGames match didn't include Giulia. The original plan was AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Becky Lynch, Asuka and Kairi Sane.
