While it looked to be set in stone that The New Level of Kofi and Austin Creed would be debuting as Swerve Strickland's partners in the wild card team during the AEW World Trios Title Roulette Royale at All In for at least a couple of weeks before the pay-per-view, Kofi has revealed the tag team didn't sign their All Elite Wrestling deals until less than 24 hours before All In.

"You talked about it being the worst kept secret but the funny thing is it didn’t really solidify and become official until less than 24 hours before the show. We didn't sign until less than 24 hours before. We knew what we wanted, we knew what everybody else wanted, but it wasn’t officially official until very soon before the kickoff time. It was incredible. We've wanted to mix it up with all of these tag teams for a very, very long time. To see it all come to fruition, it’s just like a weird, bizarre dream, but the best dream possible," Kofi revealed on the Ariel Helwani Show.

The New Level and Swerve went on to win the AEW World Trios Championships, last eliminating The Death Riders from the Roulette Royale. Creed and Kofi then entered the tag team division, facing off with Cope and Cage, Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, and The Young Bucks following the AEW World Tag Team Title match later in the pay-per-view.

The New Level became free agents after they were granted their releases by WWE in the aftermath of WrestleMania 42. This came after WWE asked the team to accept pay cuts, with Kofi having since revealed that pay cut was over 50 per cent.

Austin Creed and Kofi have reportedly already been impressing behind the scenes in All Elite Wrestling and their signings were seen as WWE's loss and AEW's gain.
