Wardlow returned to the ring on AEW Dynamite, wrestling his first match in over 900 days.

A vignette teasing the former TNT Champion’s return aired at All Out on September 26, with Wardlow himself taking to the ring alongside fellow Don Callis Family members Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Jake Doyle, and Mark Davis to take on the team of The Death Riders and Bryan Danielson in the main event of Dynamite on September 30.

The ‘War Dog’s last match came against Samoa Joe in March 2024, with the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ successfully defending the AEW World Championship on the Big Business special of Dynamite.

Wardlow’s AEW has been hampered by injury, and after missing a year of action after his loss to Joe, Wardlow returned to AEW at Forbidden Door 2025 to join the Don Callis Family, only to suffer further injury during his return angle.

During his time in AEW, Wardlow has been part of several factions, having allied with the likes of The Pinnacle, The Undisputed Kingdom, and now the Don Callis Family. As a singles wrestler, Wardlow is a three-time former AEW TNT Champion.
