WWE Royal Rumble took place outside of North America for the first time ever in 2026 as the show emanated from a custom arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, January 31.
The pay-per-view will seemingly be taking place on more familiar turf in 2027, however. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that the general chatter backstage at the Royal Rumble was the event would likely be held at a stadium in the United States in 2027.
The belief within the company at the moment is also that Royal Rumble 2027 will be a one-night pay-per-view. WWE have discussed expanding the Royal Rumble to two nights in recent years, but that seemingly won't be happening until 2028 at the earliest should WWE ever decide to make a change.
WrestleMania was the first WWE pay-per-view to transition to a two-night format beginning in 2020 with WrestleMania 36. SummerSlam was switched to a two-night pay-per-view in 2025.
Speculation has long suggested that a two-night Royal Rumble would see one of the Rumble matches take place on each night. WWE have held both a men's and women's Royal Rumble since 2018.
