Update On Identity Of Masked Man At WWE Royal Rumble 2026

The masked man angle at Royal Rumble 2026 will likely set up a match at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Bron Breakker was attacked by a masked man while making his way to the ring as the #2 entrant in the men's Royal Rumble match at the namesake pay-per-view on Saturday, January 31. The attack, which included a stomp, resulted in Breakker being eliminated from the Rumble in 10 seconds by Oba Femi.

It has been claimed by the High Spot podcast that the wrestler under the mask at Royal Rumble 2026 was Grayson Waller, but he is not expected to be the wrestler in the black hoodie when the final reveal is made. Cory Hays of BodySlam has noted that WWE ran the angle at the Rumble as the company expects Seth Rollins to be back on TV before WrestleMania 42.

"WWE expects Rollins back before WrestleMania which is why they ran the angle," Hays tweeted.

This would suggest the plan for WrestleMania 42 is Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker, a match that was set up on the post-Crown Jewel edition of Monday Night Raw when Breakker turned on Rollins and Seth was kicked out of The Vision.

Rollins suffered a shoulder injury during his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2025 on a coast-to-coast. Rollins noted soon after that he would be out of action for six months, which suggested he would be ready to return ahead of WrestleMania 42.

WrestleMania will take place on April 18 and April 19, 2026 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
