CM Punk had a busy old trip to Saudi Arabia. From controversial footage surfacing in which many accused him of pushing away a child to an apology issued out to the entire country for his infamous “blood money” tweet years prior to delivering a rap as the Dr. Of Thuganomics to main eventing Night Of Champions against John Cena in a chaotic title match, there was a whole lot going on for the ‘Best In The World’.

On the Night Of Champions post-show, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque touched on Punk’s apology, which came on the Night Of Champions kickoff event, responding to a crowd member who asked him to say sorry for his tweet from six years prior. Punk stated that he woke up cranky, was sorry, and his tweet didn’t actually have anything to do with Saudi Arabia. Triple H remarked that he was proud of Punk for this.

“I was privileged to watch him grow as a human being, to step out here and apologise to the people of Saudi, to just cherish where he is at in life and his career and the things that he gets to do and the opportunities that he has. And I was incredibly proud of him.”

Punk also appeared on SmackDown in Saudi Arabia, donning Cena’s old gimmick attire and delivering a rap, with reports noting that it was edited on the US broadcast to take out any flubs, in addition to crowd noise being piped in.
