WWE star The Miz has commented on the recent release of his former tag partner R-Truth. The duo had one reign as WWE Tag Team Champions, lasting 79 days.
Speaking with Fox News Digital, Miz said:
"Obviously, I was in a tag team with R-Truth, so it's always sad to see something like that happen. But I think Truth will bounce on his feet. He's a hell of a talented superstar".
Truth has already attracted interest from former home TNA, where he wrestled as Ron 'The Truth' Killings between 2002 and 2007.
Truth's release was reportedly universally disliked and criticised by WWE talent. The 53-year-old was beloved backstage and it was presumed he would be a WWE lifer.
As for The Miz, some fans thought he himself was on his way out of WWE after removing references to the promotion from his X/Twitter account. However, the former two-time WWE Champion has not been informed that his contract (which is believed to be expiring in 2025) will not be renewed.
