Tama Tonga has addressed being fined by WWE, saying that he "knew better" and that it was a "careless mistake."
The former WWE Tag Team Champion initially addressed his WWE status on a TikTok livestream, stating: "I been in the doghouse my whole life. No getting out of the doghouse. Yeah, I'm moving like I'm in the doghouse always."
Tonga then tweeted following the stream: "Thanks for joining the live. As addressed, yes I was fined - deserved. I knew better - a careless mistake. - Lesson learned. Take the hit and move on. Back to work."
Tama Tonga was fined by WWE after posting a 360-degree shot of the stage, arena, and ring before the March 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. It was obvious within the post that rehearsals were taking place before SmackDown and WWE issued Tonga with a fine because of an unwritten rule to not film during rehearsals.
The exact amount that WWE fined Tama Tonga is unknown but it was reportedly in the five-figure territory, meaning it was between $10,000 and $99,999.
Tama Tonga being fined received criticism on social media as WWE have heavily peeled back the curtain on what takes place behind the scenes since the beginning of 2025 through the WWE: Unreal series on Netflix. The show has already aired for two seasons and a third season is currently in production.
Since the post that resulted in his fine, Tama Tonga has lost the WWE Tag Team Titles as he and Jeff Cobb dropped the belts to Damian Priest and R-Truth on the March 20 edition of SmackDown.
