Syuri Set To Undergo Elbow Surgery

STARDOM star Syuri has announced that she is set to undergo elbow surgery, just days after making her AEW debut.

Syuri was a surprise entrant in the Women's Casino Gauntlet match at this past weekend's All In (which was won by Athena).

The surgery is not the result of an injury sustained during the match, however. In a post on her Instagram stories, Syuri noted that it is for something that has been bothering her for a longer period of time, writing:

"I'm having surgery this month on my elbow, which has been hurting for a while!!".

After dropping the IWGP Women's Championship to Sareee in June, Syuri announced that she would be taking a sabbatical from STARDOM in order to wrestle in the United States.

A vignette hyping Syuri's debut aired at Ring of Honor's Supercard of Honor (on July 11), before she made her unannounced appearance at All In. A day after the show in Arlington, Texas, Syuri wrote that she was flying back to Japan.

Syuri's former STARDOM cohort Mina Shirakawa did sustain an injury during the Casino Gauntlet match at All In, breaking her hand when Athena hit her with the O-Face.
