Steve Maclin Wants To Wrestle Darby Allin In AEW

Steve Maclin is currently a free agent, and has revealed who in AEW he’d like to wrestle, most notably Darby Allin.

The former TNA World Champion exited the promotion in June 2026 after being granted his release, with reports in the Summer indicating there had been preliminary talks between Maclin and All Elite Wrestling. Maclin recently noted how he’d be interested in working for AEW, and when talking to Muscle Man Malcolm of The Sportster Maclin noted who he’d be keen on facing in the promotion:

“There’s so many people on that roster, my number one is Darby Allin. I watched him each week, even when he had his world title run recently. He was just a workhorse and he was giving his body up. I just really enjoyed what he was doing with that body of work at the time, that’s somebody I’d love to get in the ring with,” said Maclin.

Continuing, Maclin noted how he has history with members of the Don Callis Family, and that there could be an opportunity there:

“Then, you have Josh Alexander over there who is one of my best friends. There’s a lot of opportunity with the Don Callis Family, Jake Something [Doyle], you have Kyle Fletcher, the list goes on of the entire Family. There’s so many different avenues and approaches that you can go into this, especially with that locker room that is so stacked.”
