There is no change in Sammy Guevara's status with All Elite Wrestling. His contract with the promotion has not expired, nor has he been released.

That is according to Bryan Alvarez, who reported on Wrestling Observer Radio:

"As it turns out, his contract is not expired. He has not been released. Nothing has changed. I was told that AEW had never been in his bio, so when he said 'new bio' and people looked at his bio and saw that it had been removed, it actually had never been there in the first place… I just know for sure his contract has not expired. He has not been released and apparently nothing has changed… I did hear from people who should probably know and they said nothing has changed."

Speculation was fuelled about Guevara's future with All Elite Wrestling on July 19 after he tweeted "new bio" and it was noticed that All Elite Wrestling was not mentioned, with it simply stating: "World Champion, Husband, Father & Professional Wrestler."

Guevara is an AEW original, having signed with the promotion in February 2019, and he was in the first-ever AEW singles match and the first-ever match on Dynamite. He was featured prominently across AEW during the promotion's early years, but Guevara's usage has declined since the summer of 2024 and he has primarily been booked for Ring of Honor.

In 2026, Guevara has only had three matches on AEW programming, although one of those matches was for the AEW World Championship as he challenged Darby Allin on the May 16 edition of Collision.
