Hardcore wrestling legend Sabu has passed away at 60 years old, PWInsider has reported. Additional details on Sabu's passing are not available as of the time of writing.

Sabu - real name Terry Brunk - passed away just weeks after his retirement match over WrestleMania 41 weekend when he defeated Joey Janela on April 18 at Spring Break 9. Sabu made what is believed to have been his final public appearance last weekend when he appeared at the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance reunion show convention at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena, AKA the ECW Arena.

Sabu began his pro wrestling career in 1985 and wrestled for the likes of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and FMW in Japan before settling in the United States from 1995. Sabu is best known for his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling in the 1990s, during which he had two reigns as ECW World Heavyweight Champion and classic feuds with Rob Van Dam and Taz, among others.

Sabu later wrestled for WWE as part of the promotion's relaunch of ECW. He also performed for the likes of TNA, WCW, and All Elite Wrestling during his 40-year career.

Nicknamed 'The Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac', Sabu will be remembered by pro wrestling fans for his hardcore style and penchant for possibly deliberate botches.

Cultaholic extends our condolences to Sabu's family and friends.
