The Wyatt Sicks were among the victims of WWE’s latest set of post-WrestleMania 42 releases, being let go alongside notable names such as Aleister Black & Zelina Vega, Apollo Crews, Santos Escobar, Kairi Sane, and more, with it being reported that the reasoning behind the release of the Wyatt Sicks stable and Black/Vega was due to the fact that TKO were not a fan of darker and spookier characters, with this at least being the belief of talent within WWE. This is reportedly not the case.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that they were told that the story of TKO disliking darker characters was “bull****”, and that any decision made on who to release didn’t even reach that level of thinking. The reasoning behind the darker characters like the Wyatt Sicks and Aleister Black being let go were simply because WWE had nothing for them creatively and had no plans going forwards.
It was reported this week that many in TNA believe that the Wyatt Sicks will end up in AEW, though in the case of Aleister Black, there is a belief that it will be very unlikely for him to end up in his former promotion.
