For the fourth year in a row, the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view won't be main evented by one of the namesake ladder matches.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported the main event of Money in the Bank will be Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship. WWE did briefly consider having the men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match headline the pay-per-view but those plans pivoted to Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight going on last.
A Money in the Bank Ladder Match has not been the final match of the MITB pay-per-view since 2022, when Austin Theory captured the briefcase. The last three editions of Money in the Bank have been headlined by tag team or trios matches, with The Usos vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa in 2023, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga vs. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Randy Orton in 2024, and Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs. John Cena & Logan Paul in 2025.
Roman Reigns and LA Knight faced off in a promo exchange on the go-home edition of Raw before Money in the Bank, during which Reigns claimed LA Knight complained too much, while Knight called Roman an industry plant.
The promo exchange, according to WrestleVotes Radio, received "considerable acclaim" within WWE and the company was particularly impressed by the level of emotion showcased by Reigns. There have since been discussions about booking Reigns to be more emotional in promos going forward.
