REVEALED: Why WWE Cancelled Dominik Mysterio Vs. AJ Styles At Night Of Champions

An Intercontinental Championship match was originally scheduled to take place at the upcoming Night of Champions pay-per-view, but Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles was pulled from the show during Monday's episode of Raw.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce informed Styles the match was off Night of Champions as 'Dirty Dom' was not cleared to compete. The match will instead take place when Mysterio is cleared.

There were questions about whether Mysterio's injury was legitimate, particularly with the match being cancelled amidst hostilities in the Middle East between Iran and Israel. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported, however, that Mysterio is dealing with a legitimate rib cage injury. He is not expected to be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

The Intercontinental Title match was replaced with a singles match between Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn in what will be Kross' first pay-per-view match since WrestleMania 40.

WWE Night of Champions will emanate from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, June 28. The show is scheduled to get underway at 1 pm ET/6 pm BST.
