Report: WWE Very Impressed With Top NXT Star

WWE are seemingly very happy with one of the rising stars in the company.

Trick Williams has been one of the top stars on WWE NXT since the Summer of 2023, having initially established himself through his partnership with Carmelo Hayes. The push has seen Williams have a brief reign as NXT North American Champion along with two reigns with the NXT Title.

Williams has also been a major part of the working relationship between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling in 2025 and he is currently the reigning TNA World Champion, having won the belt from Joe Hendry at NXT Battleground in May.

According to BodySlam, WWE officials have been "very impressed" with Trick's work in NXT and TNA Wrestling. WWE have long been high on the 31-year-old to the point that influential people within the company believed he had the potential to be a future WrestleMania main eventer as of early 2024.

Williams successfully defended the TNA World Title in the main event of Slammiversary. That booking decision has since proven to be controversial and TNA President Carlos Silva has addressed the backlash to the pay-per-view.
