Jelly Roll is scheduled to return to WWE programming on the July 11 edition of Friday Night SmackDown from Nashville, Tennessee, and it may not be the only WWE appearance this year from the singer/songwriter.
WrestleVotes has reported on WrestleVotes Radio that WWE want to begin a short programme with Jelly Roll on July 11 that would continue through the summer. It may even lead to Jelly Roll being involved at SummerSlam as the 40-year-old is free that weekend, although a match is considered unlikely.
"We are told through sources there have been internal discussions regarding music superstar Jelly Roll and his continued involvement with WWE. The company has announced a Jelly Roll appearance coming up on the July 11 edition of SmackDown in Nashville. Sources indicate WWE would like that to be the beginning of a small programme, with his involvement continuing into the summer. However a source was unable to confirm if this would lead to an actual match and went as far as to say that would be unlikely. It is worth noting Jelly Roll, while currently on tour with dates scheduled, is open the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd which happens to be SummerSlam," WrestleVotes said.
Jelly Roll proved to be popular when he appeared at SummerSlam 2024, during which he performed 'God Bless America' and helped Awesome Truth take out Austin Theory and Grayson Waller by hitting Theory with a Chokeslam and Five Knuckle Shuffle. WWE were reportedly "very happy" with Mr. Roll's appearance at the show.
