Report: Rey Mysterio Pushed For El Fiscal To Be Included In WWE Luchadores Tournament

El Fiscal made his official WWE debut on the August 17 edition of Monday Night Raw, ultimately losing to Rey Fenix in the first round of the luchadores tournament to determine who will face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico City on the September 14 episode of Raw.

False Finish has reported that Rey Mysterio pushed within WWE for El Fiscal to be included in the tournament. Whether or not WWE were already planning to include Fiscal in the tournament before Mysterio made his push is unknown.

El Fiscal - the son of Abismo Negro - started his pro wrestling career in 2022 and he has been a regular for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide since 2024. Fiscal has spent much of his AAA tenure feuding with Abismo Negro Jr., the wrestler who took over his father's gimmick, and their most recent televised match on July 4 went to a no-contest after both men were attacked by Los Perros del Mal.

El Fiscal will be in action at Triplemania 34 as he defeated Psycho Clown and Cruz Del Toro on the August 8 edition of AAA TV to advance to the four-way for the vacant AAA Latin American Championship.

WWE's luchadores tournament is currently at the semi-final stage, with Penta vs. La Parka and Dragon Lee vs. Rey Fenix set to take place on next week's Raw. The final will be held on the August 31 edition of Raw, and you can find out the expected winner here.
