More departures from WWE look set to take place in October, it has been revealed.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, "a few" main roster contracts are due to expire in October. It is unknown who will be departing WWE beyond it being wrestlers who haven't been utilised much on the company's televised programming.
One WWE deal known to be expiring on October 1 is Sheamus', with it being revealed in early July the multi-time world champion would be leaving WWE upon the expiry of his contract. Sheamus decided to let his deal expire after WWE asked the 48-year-old to accept a pay cut, which the 48-year-old turned down.
Several WWE wrestlers were asked to accept pay cuts following WrestleMania 42, including the likes of the New Day, who decided to request their releases. A number of wrestlers did accept the pay cuts, however, to remain with WWE.
One name who has already exited WWE is Ilja Dragunov, with the Moscow-born talent being moved to the alumni section of the WWE roster page on Thursday. WWE reportedly would have liked Dragunov to remain with the company but the former WWE United States Champion decided to let his contract expire.
