Report: Jacques Rougeau Allegedly Threw Tantrum Backstage At AEW Redemption

Jacques Rougeau reportedly "threw a tantrum" backstage at AEW Redemption due to issues over a tribute video he produced for the pro wrestling promotion's segment honouring the Rougeau family on the pay-per-view pre-show.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that Jacques Rougeau told AEW he would take care of putting together a tribute video, and he did produce a video for AEW to play during the tribute. The video, however, was said to be too long, included AI elements, and featured footage and music that All Elite Wrestling did not have the rights to.

By the time AEW were presented with the video it was the day of the show and there was no time to create anything else, which resulted in there being no tribute video on the Redemption pre-show.

Meltzer reported that, "Multiple sources said Jacques was throwing a tantrum backstage over that. He was told by one AEW official to calm down or they'd have to kick him out."

The tribute to the Rougeau family with Raymond and Jacques Rougeau was held due to Redemption taking place in their hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This didn't prevent Jacques Rougeau from being booed by fans during the tribute, which he responded to by telling those same fans to kiss his ass.

The fans were brought back onside with chants of "Ole, Ole, Ole" and Rocky Romero's interruption, which resulted in a feel-good ending where Jacques and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard clotheslined Rocky out of the ring following a punch from Raymond Rougeau.

Despite Meltzer citing multiple sources, those close to the Rougeau Brothers have claimed there was no tantrum from Jacques, nor was he given any eviction warning. AEW are said to have asked the brothers for a video package as they own footage from Lutte Internationale, but AEW rejected what was created due to having a strict "No AI" policy, while the video could also not be cleared in time by AEW's legal team.

Those close to the brothers acknowledged that Jacques wasn't very happy that the video couldn't be cleared in time, but he understood, and the segment went according to plan outside of him shooting when the fans in Montreal booed him. RJ City was said to have helped put the segment together.
