AJ Styles is reportedly set to stay in WWE after penning a contract extension with the company.

The former WWE Champion has been part of the company since 2016, and penned a new deal in 2019 - one that Styles claimed at the time would be the last of his in-ring career. Per Fightful Select, Styles was approaching the end of his current deal in 2024/2025 but was sidelined with an ankle injury, with Styles’ contract believed to have reached its expiration date during his absence.

As anyone who watches WWE regularly will know, Styles is still in the company and performing on TV, but neither WWE nor Styles publicly announced whether a contract extension had been signed. The report states that Styles is believed to have signed a one-year contract extension with WWE, although when the deal was signed and when it will expire are at present unknown.

The ‘Phenomenal One’ has stated his desire to retire in WWE, and although he held tertiary talks with AEW - mainly The Young Bucks - in 2019, these barely got off the ground, with Styles re-committing to WWE instead.
