Keith Lee has been gone from All Elite Wrestling for two and a half years, but a return for the former AEW World Tag Team Champion had been talked about within the promotion.

Fightful Select has reported that Keith Lee was discussed for an AEW return a number of months ago. There were tentative plans for a return at the time, but those plans appear to have been scrapped as they would have happened by now if they were scheduled to take place as originally planned.

It is unknown if the discussion of a return made it to Keith Lee. The 41-year-old has not been a regular backstage at AEW TV tapings.

Keith Lee has not appeared on AEW TV since December 2023 when he was pulled from a Worlds End 2023 match against Swerve Strickland just hours before the pay-per-view. It was noted that Lee had been dealing with an issue since Grand Slam 2022 and he underwent double surgery in early 2024.

In the summer of 2025, Keith Lee indicated that he was healthy once again as he wrote that he had been "good for quite some time" but a return was not up to him.

Keith Lee signed with All Elite Wrestling in early 2022, following his WWE release, and he was utilised across AEW and Ring of Honor. Lee had a 70-day reign with the AEW World Tag Team Championships in 2022, holding the belts with Swerve Strickland as one-half of Swerve in Our Glory.
