WWE have held more pay-per-views/premium live events away from North America in recent years and the company may hold their first-ever pay-per-view in China. AEW also moved All Out to an earlier start time, meaning the show won't be going head-to-head with WWE Wrestlepalooza, and there are further details about why AEW made the move.
All the WWE and AEW rumours for September 4, 2025:
Numerous people with influence in WWE have pushed for the company to hold a major event in China – specifically Hong Kong – in the coming years. A pay-per-view event has been discussed as a possibility.
WWE have only held eight events in China throughout the company's history, with six of those shows taking place in Shanghai. It very much became a tradition to hold a September house show in China between 2016 and 2019, but those plans were nixed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. WWE have yet to return to China since the pandemic.
Should WWE hold a show in China, it would be the second country the company is working with that has human rights issues, along with Saudi Arabia.
The United States Department of State noted within their 2024 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices that China continued to dismantle Hong Kong's political freedoms and autonomy in 2024. There have been "significant human rights issues", including credible reports of arbitrary arrest and detention, restrictions on freedom of expression and media freedom, human trafficking, significant restrictions on workers' freedom of association, and coercive actions against independent trade unions.
WWE Wrestlepalooza and AEW All Out were originally set to go head-to-head on Saturday, September 20, with Wrestlepalooza set to get underway at 7 pm ET followed by All Out at 8 pm.
AEW announced on Wednesday, however, that All Out will now take place at 3 pm ET from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This ultimately means the pay-per-view will end around when Wrestlepalooza is set to begin.
Fightful Select has reported that AEW had been considering moving All Out for weeks. The success of Forbidden Door airing in the afternoon helped contribute to AEW finally deciding to move All Out.
Taz was officially inducted into the 2300 Arena Hall of Fame on Wednesday night ahead of the taping of AEW Dynamite, with a banner for the Human Suplex Machine being hung from the former ECW Arena's ceiling.
The ceremony for Taz's 2300 Arena Hall of Fame induction was originally scheduled for the August 30 episode of Collision, but it was moved to the September 3 episode of Dynamite at Taz's request. The ceremony was set to air on Dynamite but those plans changed after Taz asked for the induction not to take up any TV time.
Taz tweeted: "Nah…as per my request no need to have it on tv. We have lots of current in ring wrestlers that should get the tv time…this isn't about me, it’s 2025…I been retired for years. I do not want or need anyones tv time. Not how I'm wired."
