Powerhouse Hobbs has finished up with All Elite Wrestling and the belief is he is on his way to WWE.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that Powerhouse Hobbs' contract expired at the end of Wednesday, January 14. The two sides had been in talks about an extension and AEW made a "huge" offer for Hobbs to remain with the promotion, but the 34-year-old instead allowed his deal to expire as he wanted to "test the waters." He will leave AEW on good terms.

PWInsider noted that Hobbs said his goodbyes to the locker room following Wednesday night's taping of AEW Collision following a live episode of Dynamite.

The expectation within WWE is Hobbs will be joining the company, and they believe he will be heading to the organisation unless there is suddenly an unforeseen change.

WWE have been interested in signing Powerhouse Hobbs for several years, and he attended a WWE tryout prior to signing with AEW. WWE reached out to Hobbs again after his AEW debut in 2020 and they were interested in signing him a couple of years ago, but Hobbs remained with AEW.

Hobbs ends his AEW run as a one-time TNT Champion and one-time AEW World Trios Champion as part of The Opps with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.
