Piper Niven Undergoes Neck Surgery

Piper Niven has announced that she has undergone neck surgery, going under the knife for an anterior discectomy.

Niven issued the following statement:

"I went to California and all I got was this lousy anterior discectomy. I have so much I want to say about the past 8 months but we can get to that later.

"For now, I just want to express my endless love and gratitude for every single soul that has helped me and cared for me during this difficult and really scary time.

"Pain and heartbreak are incredible teachers and the lessons I have learned from this will stay with me forever.

"I am so grateful to wake up from surgery already feeling better and I know I am coming out the other side of this so much stronger for the experience."

An anterior cervical discectomy is a surgery for people with long-term neck and arm pain who are experiencing symptoms like weakness or numbness in the arms and legs. The surgery involves making a small cut at the front of the neck and removing discs and/or bones that may be pressing on nerves in the neck or spinal cord. A synthetic implant is then placed in the space left by the removed discs and spinal fusion is carried out.

Piper Niven last wrestled on WWE TV in August 2025, with it emerging soon after that Niven was dealing with a potentially career-threatening neck injury. There was hope in September 2025 that Niven may eventually return to the squared circle.

Piper Niven has been a part of WWE since 2019, having initially performed in the company in 2017 as part of the Mae Young Classic. Niven wrestled on NXT UK until she moved to the main roster in 2021 as Doudrop and aligned with Eva Marie. Niven continued to perform as Doudrop following the end of that alliance but she reverted to her Piper Niven name in January 2023.

During her most recent run on TV, Niven was a part of Chelsea Green's Secret Hervice with Alba Fyre, who has been released by WWE during Niven's absence.
