Austin Theory was originally scheduled to wrestle at WWE Survivor Series, but those plans ultimately changed due to an injury.

The former WWE United States Champion has not wrestled since July 2025, but plans were in place for him to return ahead of Survivor Series and be a part of The Vision in WarGames, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported.

Those plans were scrapped after Jacob Fatu suffered an injury, though. The injury caused WWE to move Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Title from Survivor Series to the November 1 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. This made both Rhodes and McIntyre available for WarGames, and WWE decided McIntyre was a better fit for the match at Survivor Series than Theory.

Theory was ultimately involved in the main event of Survivor Series, however, as he was the mystery man who scaled the WarGames cage and hit CM Punk with a stomp. This allowed Bron Breakker to follow up with a Spear to score the victory for The Vision.

When exactly WWE will unveil Austin Theory as the mystery man is unknown.
