Fans hoping for WWE WrestleMania in the United Kingdom will have to wait until 2029 at the earliest.
Tom Degun of the economic desk with the Mayor of London's press office has confirmed to POST Wrestling that while there are "general discussions with WWE", there are currently "no specific discussions around bringing the 2028 WrestleMania to London."
It was noted that London Mayor Sadiq Khan, however, is "determined to bring even more sports from around the world to London, including the biggest WWE events, and continues to discuss future opportunities."
Speculation over WrestleMania 44 taking place in London emerged after WWE President Nick Khan teased an announcement for 2028's WrestleMania at a WWE town hall meeting, saying: "Wait until you hear the announcement on where we're going to be for WrestleMania in 2028."
Talk around a future WrestleMania being held in London first emerged in 2023 when John Cena advocated for WrestleMania to take place in the United Kingdom's capital city at Money in the Bank. Sadiq Khan then pledged to set up a taskforce to explore the possibility of bringing WrestleMania to London as part of his re-election campaign in 2024, with Khan then meeting Triple H and Nick Khan in July 2024.
WWE often request a site fee for WrestleMania, particularly in recent years, with the organisation receiving $6 million from Las Vegas to hold WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium. This has long been considered a stumbling block to WrestleMania being held in London.
One city in the running for WrestleMania 44 is Nashville, with the city having bid $3.5 million plus tax breaks for WWE's biggest weekend of the year to be held at the new Tennessee Titans stadium, which is due to be completed in February 2027.
WrestleMania has never taken place outside of North America but that will change for 2027's WrestleMania 43, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. London won't be bereft of major pro wrestling events as AEW All In is scheduled to air from Wembley Stadium for the third time in four years on August 30, 2026.
