Capitalism is to blame for the price of WrestleMania 42 tickets, according to WWE President Nick Khan.

As opposed to WWE being active participants in how much the company charges for WrestleMania 42 tickets, Khan claimed at the SBJ CAA World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles that "the marketplace dictates the ticket price" for WrestleMania 42. Khan suggested that lower-priced tickets can quickly be resold at a higher price, which suggests continued consumer demand is there.

The marketplace has suggested ticket prices for WrestleMania 42 were too high, though. As of Friday, April 10, ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 were down 19 per cent at the same point for 2025's WrestleMania 41, which also took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. WrestleMania 42 ticket sales were largely static between December and mid-March, but tickets have begun to move since WWE reduced prices and announced a number of promotional discounts, including 31.6 per cent off on March 16, and the promo codes REBELS and CAESARS which currently provide prospective attendees with 25 per cent off.

Since mid-February, the cheapest price of two-day tickets for WrestleMania 42 has halved from $738 to $307.85 with the use of a 25 per cent off discount code. The cheapest one-day ticket, meanwhile, has fallen from $266 in mid-February to $153.95 today with a promo code.

While ticket sales are down, Nick Khan has claimed WWE are still "feeling good" about the prospective gate and attendance for WrestleMania 42.

"We're feeling good. Last year we set records, which we set the year prior to that. So this year we think it's going to get close to that record, but fingers crossed," Khan added.

As of April 14, tickets distributed for WrestleMania 42 were 42,715 for WrestleMania Saturday and 43,394 for WrestleMania Sunday. This is currently down 27,033 tickets from the 113,142 tickets sold for WrestleMania 41.

WrestleMania 41 set a gate record for pro wrestling, with the two-night event bringing in over $66 million. This was primarily due to the average price of WrestleMania 41 tickets being $635.
