The first episode of Monday Night Raw of 2026 was a special themed edition of the show as it featured heavy cross-promotion with another Netflix property in Stranger Things.
As part of the crossover, the Raw logo was upside down inside the Barclays Center, while the vines that filled the Upside Down in Stranger Things were featured throughout the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Surfer Boy Pizza and WSQK vans were also situated on the entrance ramp, while Raw featured Stranger Things-esque graphics during the episode.
Some fans were disappointed by the extent of the crossover, believing it should have gone further, particularly as no members of the Stranger Things cast were in attendance at Raw despite the special episode promoting the finale of Stranger Things, which was added to Netflix on New Year's Eve.
That disappointment hasn't extended to within Netflix, though, and the streaming service was "thrilled" with the Stranger Things crossover on Raw, according to PWInsider. There were also reportedly never any plans for Stranger Things cast members to attend Raw.
Key moments on the first Raw of the year saw two title changes as IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, while Becky Lynch regained the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title. The main event featured CM Punk successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker during a contest in which both competitors had rough landings, although they are both fine following the match.
