AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla recently put pen-to-paper on a new deal, with AEW securing Thekla’s services for years to come.
The ‘Toxic Spider’ was originally signed to a two-year deal, but All Elite Wrestling management were pleased with her performances thus far and re-signed the champ to a multi-year deal a little over ten months after signing her initial deal. A report from Fightful Select suggests that Thekla hired representation when entering contract negotiations, with Thekla reportedly earning a substantial pay rise.
If Thekla would have made it the full two-years without signing an additional deal, it is believed that WWE would have been interested in securing her services should she have entered free agency, however AEW were pro-active and secured Thekla’s signature early to avoid such a situation. WWE were reportedly interested in Thekla before she signed her initial deal with AEW.
Thekla signed with AEW in May 2025 shortly after exiting STARDOM, and won the AEW Women’s World Championship from Kris Statlander on the February 11 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite. Thekla currently teams with Julia Hart and Skye Blue as the Triangle of Madness.
