Kenny Omega came up short at the AEW All In Texas 2025 PPV, dropping the International Championship to Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, who in turn became the brand new AEW Unified Champion. In the aftermath of All In 2025, don’t expect to see Kenny Omega on AEW programming, at least for a little while.

On AEW Dynamite this past week, Don Callis noted that Kenny Omega was “dead” after his match with Okada, implying that Omega would not be on AEW programming for the foreseeable future. Fightful Select have followed up on this by revealing that AEW sources have noted that Omega is expected to take time off from the company. It isn’t known if Omega’s absence is based around injuries or something else, and it isn’t known whether or not it will be a long-term hiatus or something more brief.

Omega returned to the ring and to AEW in 2025 after suffering from diverticulitis, which he described as nearly taking his life and left him out of action for a year. He has wrestled several times this year, though not on a full-time schedule. Samoa Joe was also written off AEW TV at All In.
