Kenny Omega’s schedule in AEW has slowed right down in 2025 following his comeback from injury, leaving many questioning his physical conditioning, especially after he missed the likes of AEW All Out and other events. When it comes to the potential of his career ending, the man himself has been giving the topic some thought.
Speaking with CBS Sports, Omega spoke on his redacted schedule and timing his retirement correctly. He first discussed wanting to leave wrestling without any regrets or any tarnishing on his legacy or reputation, before delving more into the fact that he is currently doing the best he can in his current condition.
“I’m trying to do that without making it very obvious that there are good and bad days for Kenny Omega. I want to do the best I can. I don’t want people to worry about me. I want to do a performance that I’m proud of, and that my opponent can benefit from… without further endangering myself.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about when that timing would be. Another important thing for me is, when I finally do leave, whenever that may be, and this might sound odd, I don’t want people to be sad. In fact, the best-case scenario for me is that they don’t realize I’m gone at all. I’d love to have the peace of mind that the company has built enough stars so that their star is shining bright enough to distract from me stepping away from the scene. That would make me most happy.”
Omega most recently wrestled at the Full Gear 2025 PPV, taking on The Young Bucks & Josh Alexander alongside Jurassic Express.
