Jim Ross has been discharged from hospital and the All Elite Wrestling commentator is now recovering from surgery at home.

JR announced on X/Twitter: "Made it home from the hospital but feeling rugged. Need to kick out. I'm trying."

Jim Ross revealed on May 15 that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer. The 73-year-old underwent surgery on May 27 to remove the cancer from his colon and it was noted that the surgery was successful.

Despite the health issues, Jim Ross is not planning to retire and JR noted ahead of surgery that he planned to continue working for All Elite Wrestling, though he may slow down his schedule. Ross has been a part of AEW since 2019, having had a legendary career as an announcer dating back to 1977.

"I'm thinking I'll really slow down after the surgery. I'll talk to the doctor, and see what he says. I'll try to really slow down when this is over. Make a few autograph appearances, which I love to do, and see what Tony Khan's got ready for me in AEW. I could still do my schedule I had, but I don't know if anybody else believes that. I believe it. I still would love to do the pay-per-views in AEW, but I don't know if Tony will want me on, I don't know," Ross said on Grilling JR

There was some controversy around Ross' cancer diagnosis after Ric Flair called JR an attention seeker. Flair deleted the tweet soon after and claimed he was making a joke.
