Jim Ross Calls "Bullsh*t" On Bret Hart's Suggestion That Vince McMahon & Shawn Michaels Were Lovers

Jim Ross has called "bullsh*t" on Bret Hart's allegation that Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels were lovers during the 1990s, suggesting that The Hitman is simply "stirring the sh*t."

"[Laughs] That's great. That's hilarious. Bret knows how to push the buttons, man. He knows what he's doing, and it's working because we're talking about it, among others....It's bullsh*t. Shawn in that era, at that point in that time, he was in a different mindset. He was a different guy. I don't think he [Bret] had in any what form or fashion believed what he said. I think he's just stirring the sh*t. Bret knows what buttons to push," Ross said on Grilling JR.

After revealing that he last spoke with Vince McMahon at Christmas 2024, JR admitted he believes the allegation would privately annoy McMahon.

"Well, in front of people he would try to blow it off. Like it means nothing because it's just a bitter guy trying to stir the sh*t, and that's what I would think. Privately, it'll p*ss him off a little bit and he'll internalise. He'll be angry, but he won't publicly show it or say anything about it," JR continued.

The former WWE Head of Talent Relations doesn't believe Bret is bitter, however, adding: "No. He made a fortune, and he's healthy again. Last time I saw him, he was healthy as a horse."

JR's comments come after Bret Hart alleged during a discussion of the Montreal Screwjob that he came to the realisation that he was stuck between two lovers, and Shawn Michaels was "so envious and jealous" of him that he slept with Vince McMahon to secure Bret's spot as the top star.

"When Shawn was in the ring talking about he lost some part of himself or he was going to find his smile, I remember Vince had the tear roll down his cheek. I remember watching it and going I think there's more going on here between these two guys. Honestly, I'm just being honest and blunt, but I suspected and now I really have serious, I think that Shawn and Vince were sleeping with each other. I'm just telling you, I think I'm very close to the truth here. Shawn and Vince were lovers. I'm being dead honest. When I look back, I got caught between two lovers and I got shafted and screwed over. And Shawn was so envious and jealous of my position that he finally had to sleep with Vince to get it. I would say it to Shawn if he was right here. I would actually really like to have Shawn come clean and say, ‘Look, we were lovers.’ Because I’m sure they were. If I saw Vince or Shawn here I would say, ‘I think you guys were lovers,'" Bret stated.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hart revealed he believes Rey Mysterio might be the greatest wrestler of all time, and that he knocked out a woman at a Sir Rod Stewart concert when he was 18 years old.
