How WWE Internally Views IYO SKY

It has been a big few years for Iyo Sky in WWE, who won the Money In The Bank briefcase and WWE Women’s Championship in 2023, and was featured in marquee matches at both WrestleMania 40 and WrestleMania 41, the latter of which saw her successfully defend the Women’s World Championship - a title she still currently holds. 

Sky has been afforded plenty of big matches and opportunities, and retains a big connection with the WWE audience. It therefore comes as no surprise that those backstage in WWE are all on board the Iyo Sky train. As noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a higher up name in WWE has noted that those internally consider Sky a breakaway star, especially this year. They note her ability to combine ‘fire and voice inflections that made Asuka a strong promo’ without necessarily speaking English. Additionally, her workrate has been applauded. 

It is stated that everyone on the roster is a fan of Iyo Sky - not just the higher ups in WWE - and that everyone enjoys not only working with her, but there are no issues from anyone in being part of matches and feuds that allows her to shine.
