A former WWE NXT talent's future plans since their WWE release have been revealed, with the wrestler popping up in Ring of Honor.

An ROH TV taping was held prior to AEW Dynamite at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday night and the second match at the taping saw Tomohiro Ishii square off with Oro Mensah. Now going by simply Oro, the former WWE NXT star ultimately lost to the Stone Pitbull.

Real name Oliver Carter, Oro Mensah had been a part of WWE from 2019 until he was released by the company in May 2025, only days after the Meta-Four stable in NXT had been split up. Mensah performed on NXT UK, twice reigning as NXT UK Tag Team Champions with Ashton Smith, until the brand was shuttered in 2022. He then moved to NXT.

The other matches to take place at the ROH TV taping saw Jay Lethal pick up a win over Alex Zayne and Willie Mack defeat Gringo Loco.
