Drew McIntyre may have suffered a legitimate injury at WWE's Backlash pay-per-view on Saturday, May 10.
McIntyre was involved in the opening contest of Backlash as he competed in a four-way for the United States Championship with Jacob Fatu, Damian Priest, and LA Knight. After Priest pulled the referee out of the ring when McIntyre had the match won, the two rivals brawled around the ringside area. Upon reaching a stage area, Priest proceeded to put McIntyre through a pile of tables with a South of Heaven.
McIntyre's head, however, narrowly missed the table and the back of his head ended up hitting the floor. PWInsider has reported that McIntyre is being checked out by WWE medical and is currently being evaluated. There is no word on McIntyre's condition as of the time of writing.
Jacob Fatu went on to retain the United States Championship following interference from the debuting Jeff Cobb, with Cobb beating down LA Knight before Fatu hit the Best Moonsault Ever for the win.
