It was announced on Wednesday night's edition of AEW Dynamite that Darby Allin was hospitalised following his Continental Classic win over Kevin Knight on November 26, with Excalibur noting that Darby was not cleared and an additional update on his condition was expected on Collision.

Darby was also shown lying in a hospital bed, and there was uncertainty about whether the announcement was legitimate or a work. Unlike many pro wrestling injuries, though, Darby was legitimately hospitalised after his match with Kevin Knight and his status for the remainder of the Continental Classic is up in the air, Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"Somebody tweeted that he had been in the hospital for a week and he was still there. That's not quite true. What happened was he got hurt in the Kevin Knight match last week. The spot that looked the scariest was the coast-to-coast dropkick. He got smashed with that move. I don't know if that's the move where he got hurt, but he got hurt," Alvarez said.

"He was in the hospital for a while, but they did clear him because he ended up going home. So he can travel….The impression I was given was they're going to find out more on Collision. He might stay in the tournament and he might not. They have to, I guess, figure it out in the next few days depending on how he's doing."

Darby Allin is part of the Gold League for the AEW Continental Classic. Others in the block include Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and PAC.
