Danhausen looks set to be a free agent in the near future.
Fightful Select has reported that, barring some unforeseen contract extension, Danhausen's deal with All Elite Wrestling is scheduled to expire in February 2026.
Danhausen's contract was originally set to expire in July 2025 but AEW added time onto the 35-year-old's deal to keep him under contract into 2026. Danhausen even asked AEW not to pick up the additional time in his contract, but the promotion opted to anyway.
Danhausen signed with All Elite Wrestling in early 2022, but he has barely been used by the promotion in two years. The 'Very Nice, Very Evil' talent has been gone from AEW since Worlds End 2023, and the only appearance he has made in the last two years came in a surprise run-in at ROH Final Battle 2024.
While AEW extended Danhausen's deal, the company still didn't book him, and Fightful noted he hasn't been backstage "in ages", nor was he factored into creative plans.
While he hasn't been booked by AEW, Danhausen has remained busy on the indies, working 36 matches in 2025 for the likes of GCW, AIW, Prestige Wrestling, and WrestlePro.
When he becomes a free agent, Danhausen may end up signing with WWE as the company were interested in signing him in the summer of 2025.
