Rumours have swirled about when CM Punk will resurface on WWE programming and, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the expectation is still that Punk will make his return on this coming Monday's episode of Raw from Chicago, Illinois.
A source at Chicago's Allstate Arena has told WrestleVotes they have not been informed of any change to Punk's promotional status for the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, which is the reason for him continuing to be heavily advertised for the event. Recent reports had noted that while Punk will be switched to Friday Night SmackDown upon coming back to WWE TV, he has pushed hard for his return to happen on the July 6 Raw due to the event being held in Chicago.
That show may set up CM Punk's next feud as it will feature Sami Zayn defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title, according to reports, has long been the plan for SummerSlam, and the match was heavily teased on the Raw after WrestleMania 42.
CM Punk has been absent from WWE TV after the company's post-WrestleMania 42 plans were changed, with Jacob Fatu moving to Raw and Gunther being switched to SmackDown. There have been rumours of issues between CM Punk and WWE, and while they are not as bad as initially claimed on social media, reports have indicated there are mild issues between the two sides.
CM Punk has been back with WWE since Survivor Series 2023 and he has added two reigns with the World Heavyweight Championship to his list of accolades.
